JAKARTA The men's singles badminton player, Alwi Farhan, responded to his perfect performance during his appearance at the 2025 Asian Mixed Team Badminton Championship (BAMTC).

Alwi was recorded as having never lost four matches in the two years and managed to help the Indonesian team climb the highest podium and bring home the first title.

"Certainly very happy and excited every time there is an opportunity to play and ready to give points for the Indonesian team," said Alwi in Jakarta on Monday, February 17, 2025, evening WIB.

The 2023 junior world champion began his journey in, Qingdao, China, with a win against Hong Kong's best singles, Ng Ka Long Angus.

He then went down against Lee Chia Hao (China Taipei) in the quarter-finals, against Panitchaphon Teeraratsakul (Thailand) in the semifinals, and then beat Hu Zhe'an (China) in the finals.

Alwi admitted that he felt quite burdened because he was given the trust during the tournament in the absence of senior names, such as Jonatan Christie and Anthony Sinisuka Ginting.

"Obviously that burden must exist, but how can I control it, how can I get out of the pressure. I have approximately a recipe for team tournaments," he said.

Indonesia won after defeating the host China with a landslide score of 3-1 last weekend. It was Indonesia's first title at the event.

Apart from Alwi, two other points in the final match were contributed by mixed doubles pair Rinov Rivaldy/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti and men's doubles pair Muhammad Shohibul Fikri/Daniel Marthin.
