JAKARTA Indonesia will send as many as six athletes for three disciplines in one sport to the 2025 Asian Winter Games next month.

The event will take place in Harbin, China, on February 7-14. The Indonesian team that left there was equipped with three coaches and two medical teams.

Chef de Mission (CdM) Indonesia Josephine Tampubolon said the participation of Indonesian athletes in the winter sports event became a sports development strategy.

"As a tropical country that participates in the winter multi-branch, Indonesia's participation in an event like this is an extraordinary achievement," said Josephine in a statement received.

The six athletes who will appear there are Michelle Edgina Axille (Fire Skating), Kelly Elizabeth Supangat (Fire Skating), Arsa Mizan Putra Firdaus (Short Track Speed Skating),rava Kayana Putra Firdaus (Short Track Speed Skating), Tasya Putri Permatasari (Ice Dancing), and Dwiki Eka Ramadhan (Ice Dancing).

The Indonesian contingent will depart for Harbin on February 4 and will attend the opening ceremony on February 7, 2025. Tasya and her friends will then return to Indonesia on February 15, 2025.

Chairman of NOC Indonesia Raja Sapta Oktohari along with Deputy General Chair Ismail Ning and two executive committees are scheduled to accompany the struggle of the Indonesian team while in China.

Josephine emphasized that it is important to provide full support to athletes so as to ensure they can compete at the highest level in the international arena.

"Our job is to serve, facilitate and ensure that the athletes who will compete are in the best condition in order to provide maximum achievements for Indonesia at the 2025 Asian Winter Games," said Josephine.
