Malaysia Open 2025 Schedule Next Week

Gregoria Mariska Tunjung immediately met Putri Kusuma Wardani in the first round of the Malaysia Open 2025 (doc. PBSI).

JAKARTA The BWF World Tour series in 2025 will start next week. Currently, Indonesia has nine representatives on the temporary list.

The Super 1000 BWF level tournament will take place on January 7-12 2025 at Axiata Arena, Kuala Lumpur. The total prize provided is 1.45 million US dollars.

This tournament will most likely harm the Indonesian women's singles sector. In the temporary draw on the BWF website, the two women's singles sent there immediately faced each other in the first round.

Gregoria Mariska Tunjung and Putri Kusuma Wardani are the two names in question. However, this lottery can still change in the managers meeting the day before the tournament.

In the men's singles, Jonatan Christie and Anthony Sinisuka Ginting can also meet in the semifinals. In the draw, both of them were in the bottom part of the chart.

For now, Jonathan and Ginting are both starting their journey against the French representative. Jonathan met Toma Junior Popov, while Ginting will meet the semifinalist of the 2023 Junior World Championship, Alex Lanier.

The possibility of clashes in the semifinals is also open to the women's doubles duo Lanny Tria Mayasari/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti and Febriana Dwi Puji Kusuma/Amallia Cahaya Pratiwi.

Febriana/Amallia will start their work with the Chinese Taipei pair Hsieh Pei Shan/Hung En-Tzu, while Lanny/Fadia meet third seed Malaysia, Pearly Tan/Thinaah Muralitharan.

Finally, the only mixed doubles that will play in this event are the Dejan Ferdinansyah/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja pair. They are the fifth seed in this tournament.

The Malaysian pair, Wong Tien Ci/Lim Chiew Sien, will be Dejan/Gloria's first test. This will be Dejan and Gloria's last tournament as a couple.

After that, Dejan will change partners with Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti. The two will debut at the India Open which takes place the following week.
