Erick Thohir Expressed The PSSI Management Fund Budget, Capai Rp650 Billion

PSSI needs funds of IDR 650 billion to manage Indonesian football (doc. PSSI).

JAKARTA - PSSI General Chair (Ketum), Erick Thohir, reported the budget for funds disbursed by the federation for football operations in the country.

Erick said that hundreds of billions of funds were disbursed, which means it is bigger many times than other sports.

Previously, Erick Thohir had mentioned that PSSI was targeting funds of more than IDR 650 billion by 2025. The budget is intended for the management of Indonesian football.

"It's impossible for us to depend solely on the Government. A total of more than IDR 650 billion is a fantastic number."

"I also never thought about managing football, the figure is so big," said Erick Thohir after attending PSSI Partner Summit 2024 on Monday, December 16, 2024.

Regarding the funds, Erick Thohir revealed that the Government had indeed budgeted Rp227 billion for funds. However, that amount is not enough and makes PSSI have to find other sources of funds by relying on partnerships.

After successfully cooperating with a number of sectors for cooperation, Erick Thohir admitted that the needs needed in the world of football were many times more than in other sports.

"In the past, IDR 30-40 billion was enough in basketball. In badminton, IDR 80 billion. This (ballball) can really almost be seven to 10 times."

"Yes, it means that the role of the Government, private sector must be a unit. Otherwise, yes, we can't afford it," said Erick Thohir.

PSSI also appreciates sponsors who have provided support during this year and who will help next year by holding PSSI Partner Summit 2024.

"PSSI Partner Summit 2024 is a public report that in building football it is impossible for stakeholders not to unite."

"We can see that many from the private sector also support it. The brands are also extraordinary, brands that are close to football, sports," said Erick.
