Bagnaia: A Difference Of 19 Points Will Be Difficult To Catch, We Do Our Best

JAKARTA - Ducati's racer, Francesco Bagnaia said that the 19-point difference between Prima Pramac's racer, Jorge Martin, in the race for the title this season will be difficult to catch but he will try his best to secure the title.

Francesco Bagnaia will undergo a life-to-life race in the main race of the Solidarity GP which will take place at the Catalunya Circuit, Barcelona, Sunday. Bagnaia, who is now in second place, must be able to overtake Jorge Martin's points in the last series of the season.

"We did what we had to do, but 19 points will still be difficult to catch up on and it will be difficult to take it back (the title). We will do our best and what will happen, will happen, but after all, I had fun on the track this weekend," Bagnaia said. quoted from an official statement on Sunday.

Pecco, Bagnaia's nickname, appeared dominating throughout the qualifying session and the sprint race GP Solidarity. In the qualifying session, Pecco became the fastest and was sure to start the race from pole position.

While in the sprint race, the Italian racer won the title after recording the fastest time, 20 minutes and 3,173 seconds. While the second podium was secured by Ducati racer Esea Bastianini who finished with a time of +0.942 seconds.

Competitors for the Bagnaia title, Jorge Martin, had to settle for being on the third podium after finishing with a time of +1,270 seconds.

"This result is important to get the first position back as soon as possible and we did, and I'm sure we have to do the same in the main race," Bagnaia said.

Currently Martin is still leading the standings with 492 points while Pecco is in second place with a difference of 19 points after collecting a total of 473 points.
