JAKARTA The process of achieving an achievement will not take place overnight like a miracle. That's what the Djarum Foundation and MilkLife Sports Service hold with their flagship program MilkLife Soccer Challenge.

This program has run dozens of series throughout this year targeting the development of early childhood women's soccer. The latest is Jakarta Series 2 2024 which will only be completed on Sunday, November 10, 2024.

The MilkLife Soccer Challenge Director, Teddy Tjahjono, said that the guidance they were doing was still the initial foundation with the aim of forming a competitive Indonesian Women's National Team.

"So, it obviously takes time for these children to reach the level of the national team. Please be patient. This is just the beginning of the development of women's football," he said when met at the Kingkong Soccer Arena, East Jakarta.

The 2024 Series 2 participants in Jakarta have three times increased by 1,359 students from 85 Elementary Schools (SD) throughout Jakarta and its surroundings. Participants were divided into 31 age groups (KU) 10 and 88 KU-12 teams.

This number is in stark contrast to the implementation of the Jakarta Soccer Challenge Series 1 which was only attended by 368 students. At that time they were divided into nine KU-10 teams and 25 KU-12 teams.

Teddy said that not only did the increase in participants continue to rise, the new talents of Indonesian women's football continued to emerge in the forum they provided.

"They have grown far. This means that they know that there are tournaments that will be faced and routinely carried out so that they prepare themselves. That is what is encouraging for all of us," said Teddy.

Currently, the Djarum Foundation has synergized with the All-Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) and the Indonesian Women's Football Association (ASBWI) so that these talents can still get a container.

One of the new containers to be held is the Pertiwi Cup for the 14th and 16th age levels initiated by PSSI and will be fully supported by the Djarum Foundation Sports Service.

The President Director of the Djarum Foundation, Victor Hartono, hopes that in the next 10 to 20 years these new talents will be able to make Indonesia proud on important stages, such as the World Cup.

"However, we must also be realistic by supporting the talents that are starting to emerge now until they reach a mature age as footballers," said Victor.
