U-20 2025 Asian Cup Draw Schedule, Opens Indonesia U-20 Opportunities To Enter Hell Group

The Indonesian national team has a chance to enter the hell group at the 2025 U-20 Asian Cup (doc. PSSI).

JAKARTA - The U-20 Indonesian national team is faced with tough challenges ahead of the 2025 U-20 Asian Cup draw. Garuda Muda's current position opens up opportunities to enter the hell group.

The draw agenda for the 2025 U-20 Asian Cup will take place at Grand Skylight International Guanlan, Shenzhen, China, on Thursday, November 7, 2024.

The 2025 U-20 Asian Cup tournament has just taken place in China, February 12-1 March 2025.

In the later draw, the U-20 Indonesian national team has the opportunity to enter the hell group. The reason is, currently Garuda Muda is in Pot 3 with Saudi Arabia, Syria, and Kyrgyzstan. While the strong teams are at Pot 1 and 2, as well as the team at Pot 4.

There is the potential for Indonesia to be in a group with Japan which inhabits Pot 1, South Korea, residents of Pot 2, and Qatar in Pot 4.

There is also the potential for the U-20 Indonesian national team to be in a group with Australia to enter Pot 2.

Whatever the results of the group stage draw, the U-20 Indonesian national team's journey will never be easy.

In the last two decades, Indonesia's best achievement was the quarter-finals in the 2018 U-20 Asian Cup.

Indonesia's best achievement in the event that used to be in the U-19 category was the champion with Myanmar in 1961.

For this tournament, PSSI specifically requested that the U-20 Indonesian national team qualify for the semifinals.

If that target is achieved, it will pave the way to the 2025 U-20 World Cup in Chile.
