Valencia Club Changes Metalla Stadium To Food Bank For Storm Victims

Valencia CF helped the government deal with the Hurricane Dana (X/@valenciacf_en) disaster.

JAKARTA - La Liga club Valencia CF has turned their home, Mestalla Stadium, into a food bank for the victims of Hurricane Dana that hit Valencia Province on Tuesday, October 29, 2024.

Bada Dana, which caused flash floods, has damaged a number of facilities and has so far killed more than 90 people and is not yet known.

Valencia, which was actually also affected, did not want to remain silent. They help the local government by providing food and basic necessities for local residents who are victims.

"Valencia CF in collaboration with Valencia Food Bank provides a Mestalna for a place to provide food and basic necessities."

The club's action nicknamed Los Ches also received responses from many people. A non-profit and non-governmental organization from the United States, World Central Kitchen (WCK), also came to help provide food and other basic necessities.

Not only that, the famous Spanish chef, Jose Andres, also went directly to the Mestalla Stadium.

Valencia is now focusing on helping deal with the Hurricane Dana disaster. They have also been allowed to postpone matches in La Liga and the Copa del Rey.

In fact, Los Ches is scheduled to host Real Madrid at the Mestalla Stadium on November 3, 2024 and travel to Parla Escuela headquarters on November 7, 2024 WIB.

However, La Liga and the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) have issued an announcement to postpone a number of matches for teams affected by Hurricane Dana.

"Valencia CF would like to express our deepest condolences to the families and friends of those who died from Hurricane Dana."

"Hopefully all the neighbors and affected residents as well as groups working to prevent and overcome the impact of this storm remain strong."

"The match has been rescheduled. Valencia CF considers this the most appropriate measure given the dire consequences of the Hurricane Dana weather phenomenon experienced in Valencia, recommendations to avoid travel, and cut off communications to Madrid," the club said in another statement.
