Final MilkLife Soccer Challenge Series 2 Born New Champion

JAKARTA - The final match of the MilkLife Soccer Challenge Series 2 2024 in Yogyakarta was fierce and succeeded in producing a new champion. Held at the Tridadi Stadium, Sleman, on Sunday, October 27, 2024, MIS Al Islamiyah Grojogan came out as champions in the U-12 and SD Muhammadiyah Sapen categories as champions from the U-10 category.

In the finals of each age category, the determination of victory must be passed with a penalty shootout drama.

MIS Al Islamiyah Grojogan won after beating the winner of the first series, SDN 2 Wonoharjo, in the U-12 category.

Then, SD Muhammadiyah Sapen came out as a champion from the U-10 category after defeating SD Muhammadiyah Sokoandi 2.

In the U-12 category, both teams played at a high tempo since kick-off to break down the opponent's defense. However, the 2-2 draw that was created in 2 x 15 minutes forced the match to continue on penalties.

Eka Anisa Putri, who appeared as the last executioner, was able to score a winning goal for her team at the Yogyakarta Series 2 MilkLife Challenge in the category 7 vs 7.

The result of the penalty brought MIS Al Islamiyah Grojogan to become the new champion at KU-12.

Meanwhile, in the U-10 category, SD Muhammadiyah Sapen made a surprise since the semifinals.

They managed to avenge their defeat against SDN Ungaran 1 B in the MilkLife Soccer Challenge Series 1 Yogyakarta 2024.

Being able to beat the 1st series champion in the last four made Shima Putri and colleagues' confidence increase.

Although the score of the glasses lasted throughout the first half, SD Muhammadiyah Sapen immediately showed their spurs in the early 15 minutes of the second half which then made them lock the 2-0 victory.

"I didn't expect in the end we could become champions after in the first series only until the semifinals. I am very proud because in the final we also contributed two goals for the team's victory."

"This victory is also my proof to my parents because I want to pursue the ideals of being a professional women's soccer player even though my parents also suggested that I become an entrepreneur later," said Shima.

The Acting (Pjs) Regent of Sleman, Kusno Wibowo ST, M.S. who also witnessed the final of the MilkLife Soccer Challenge Yogyakarta Series 2 2024 gave appreciation to students who had shown their interest and talent in women's soccer.

He hopes that the tournament, which was initiated by the Djarum Foundation and MilkLife, can be a foothold to achieve higher achievements in the future.
