JAKARTA The former two-time heavyweight champion from England, Anthony Joshua, will face Daniel Dubois or Tyson Fury in the next match.

The 35-year-old boxer has just suffered his fourth defeat in his career when he met Daniel Dubois to fight for the IBF belt at Wembley Stadium, London, England, in September 2024.

Joshua and Dubois are likely to fight again in February 2025. In addition, Fury is also on the list of potential opponents after various plans to bring them together have always failed to this day.

"We will fight Dubois or Fury next. That's all. There is no interest or other warm-up (fight)," said Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn, quoted by the BBC.

Fury, who has long been linked to Joshua's super fight, will face Ukrainian fighter Oleksandr Usyk in a rematch on December 21, 2024.

The British fighter previously lost through a separate decision against Usyk in the fight for the undisputed heavyweight world champion in May 2024.

Hearn said that Joshua still needed time after losing a knockout against Dubois. He acknowledged Joshua had the determination to defend himself.

"However, the only problem is time. In order for a rematch to occur in February 2025, training camps must begin in a few weeks," he said.

If Joshua wins in a rematch with Dubois and Fury wins against Usyk, then Joshua and Fury will enter the ring to fight for the undisputed world title.

"We will fight Dubois, but we could have fought Fury in May 2025 for the biggest fight in boxing," Hearn said.

The rematch between Fury and Usyk is no longer up for the four belts. The reason is, Usyk has vacated the IBF which was contested by Joshua and Dubois.
