Indonesia International Challenge 2024: 3 Men's Doubles Clashes In The Last 16

JAKARTA Three Indonesian men's doubles pairs will certainly face each other in the round of 16 of the Indonesia International Challenge 2024.

This happened after the couple Rahmat Hidayat/Yeremia Erich Yoche Yacob Rambitan also passed the first round of the tournament which took place in East Java Expo, Surabaya, East Java, on Wednesday, October 23, 2024.

The first seed followed in the footsteps of his colleagues after winning against Chinese representatives Taipei, Tzu Hung Chiu/Po Chih Yang, two straight games 21-15 and 22-20.

The pair who made their debut at Thailand Masters 2024 lost their focus on the second game. Fortunately, the Sri Lanka International Challenge 2024 champion was able to rise quickly.

Rahmat/Yeremia, who are the runners-up of the next Slovenia Open 2024, will meet their Senegera partner, Jonathan Farrell Gosal/Adrian Pratama.

Jonathan/Adrian reached the second half after defeating representatives of Malaysia, Tor Bolherry/Jing Xuan Fan, in the two games 21-11 and 21-14.

"We have to be able to step on the gas from the start of the match. The wind conditions in the arena really affect us, we must be able to adapt quickly in the field," said Rahmat.

In addition to the two pairs above, clashes between fellow Indonesian representatives also occurred between Alden Lefilson Putra Mainaky/Alweyn Jantje Putra Mainaky versus Daniel Edgaroso/Christopher David Wijaya and Asghar Herfanda/Reza Dwicahya Purnama against Raymond Indra/Patra Harapan Rindorindo.

Overall, Indonesia has nine men's doubles representatives who qualified for the second half and five other couples lifting suitcases in the first half.

The other three men's doubles that also qualified for the second round were Muhammad Putra Erwitsyah/Teges Satriaji Cahyo Hutomo, Anselumus Breach Fredy Prasetya/Pulung Ramadhan, Michael Kaldrian Wiguna/Gabriel Christopher Winta Wijaya.
