Media Cup 2024 Rolls Out At The End Of October, Indra Sjafri Officially Becomes Brand Ambassador

Indra Sjafri was appointed as brand ambassador for the 2024 Media Cup (doc. PSSI Pers).

JAKARTA - The intermediate mini-sector tournament titled Mandiri Media Cup 2024 will resume on 28-30 October 2024. In this third edition, the tournament will be held at Asiop Stadium, Central Jakarta.

The support for the holding of the 2024 Media Cup is also inseparable from the willingness of the U-20 Indonesian national team coach, Indra Sjafri. The tactician who successfully made various achievements will be involved as a brand ambassador for the 2024 Media Cup.

The choice of Indra Sjafri was not without reason. Supported by Mandiri as the main sponsor, the 2024 Media Cup, which is a prestigious national intermediate tournament and sports appointed Indra Sjafri as the brand ambassador because of his flashy reputation.

Indra Sjafri is a coach who won the AFF U-19 Cup twice in 2013 and 2024. Coach IS, his nickname also presented the AFF U-22 Cup trophy in 2019, as well as the 2023 SEA Games gold medal which ended Indonesia's 32-year long wait.

The coach from West Sumatra also made history by bringing the U-20 Indonesian national team to compete in three editions of the U-20 Asian Cup, namely in 2014, 2018, and 2025. Even in 2018, Indra Sjafri's team was able to advance to the quarter-finals before being stopped by the Asian giant team, Japan, with a score of 0-2.

Indra Sjafri, who officially became the brand ambassador, also welcomed the 2024 Mandiri Media Cup. According to him, the tournament initiated by PSSI Pers shows that journalists are not only good at processing and writing news.

"I salute my fellow journalists, because of their unlimited creativity, including holding this tournament. I hope that the 2024 Media Cup will be lively and strengthen inter-jurnalis relations," said Indra Sjafri in a statement quoted Monday, October 14, 2024.

Indra Sjafri also advised the 2024 Mandiri Media Cup participants to play sportsmanship. He also challenged journalists to show his skills in processing the round skin.

"For all participating teams, I advise you to keep playing fair play and sporty. Show each other's abilities, don't want to lose to professional players," said Indra Sjafri.

The 2024 Media Cup Mandiri will be followed by 16 national media and sports. Covering ANTV, TV ONE, Kompas TV, TVRI, TRANS 7, Metro TV, Bola.com, Detik.com, SKOR.ID, MNC Portal, Java Pos, SCTV, INews TV, Tribune Network, CNN Indonesia TV, and ANTARA.

As for the first edition of the Media Cup in 2022, TVRI came out as a champion. A year later, SCTV won the title.
