PB Djarum General Audition: 11 Athletes Get Scholarships

JAKARTA There are a total of 11 athletes who have won the Badminton Scholarship Djarum so that they will automatically join the PB Djarum club.

Head of the PB Djarum 2024 Public Audit Talent Search Team, Sigit Budiarto, said that selected athletes managed to meet the criteria set by the talent search team and the club's coaching staff.

"We congratulate the new members of PB Djarum. With our observations throughout quarantine, they are the best of the best and as needed by the club," he said.

These young badminton players were selected after struggling through a long series of PB Djarum 2024 General Audition selections.

The process started from the screening round, tournament, to the quarantine stage. They were selected from 1,966 participants for the 2024 PB Djarum Public Audition from various parts of Indonesia.

"For those who haven't succeeded, don't be discouraged because there are other opportunities to join PB Djarum, either through General Audition or Special Audition. Continue the spirit to become champions," said Sigit.

The selected new athletes consisted of three male U-11 athletes, two female U-11 athletes, two male KU-11 athletes, one female KU-11 athlete, one male KU-11 athlete, and two female KU-12 athletes.

They come from various regions in Indonesia, including Ketapang Regency, Palembang City, Deli Serdang Regency, Surabaya City, to Denpasar City.

These young athletes who have just joined are expected to maximize their potential and talents so that they continue the baton of Indonesian badminton glory.

In addition to providing comprehensive coaching, PB Djarum will also regularly send its athletes to compete in national to international level tournaments.

PB Djarum Men's Athlete Coach Ferry said that badminton players who take part in the quarantine stage have a fighter spirit and are able to undergo every test from the coach to the fullest.

"We appreciate the athletes who have been sweating throughout the series of public auditions, especially at the quarantine stage," said Ferry.

Meanwhile, the PB Djarum Women's Athlete Coach, Roy Djojo Effendy, advised the athletes who managed to become the PB Djarum squad not to be complacent because the trip to the world badminton players was still quite long.

"At this year's General Audition, one of the prides of us as coaches is the number of women's participants who have also increased," said Roy.
