David Benavidez Confirms Against David Morrell

JAKARTA American boxer David Benavidez has confirmed that he will enter the ring against fellow super middleweight fighter David Morrell.

This assurance was conveyed by Benavidez through his Instagram social media account. It is possible that the two will duel at the beginning of next year, January or February 2025.

"I contacted David Morrell and his team to make this duel happen. We also completed the contract," Benavidez confirmed as reported by Boxing Scene.

If realized then this will be a prestigious battle between the two best fighters in the division.

Both Benavidez and Morrell have proven themselves to be top competitors in the super middleweight division.

Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez is considered by some to be the only fighter above them because he was once the undisputed champion.

Benavidez said that their duel would be one of the incredible fights with two titles at stake.

"There are a lot of names at stake, but I want to give the best fight for my fans," wrote the 27-year-old boxer.

Benavidez's last appearance (29-0, 24 KO) was an absolute 12-round victory over former lightweight heavyweight title holder Oleksandr Gvozdyk, in June 2024.

Meanwhile, Morrell (11-0, 9 KO), a 26-year-old fighter from Cuba last moved into the ring in the lightweight heavyweight in August 2024 and won absolutely over Radivoje 'Hot Rod' Kalajdzic.
