JAKARTA - Erik ten Hag is under pressure. His position in the Manchester United manager seat is not safe.

The Red Devils officials will reportedly determine the fate of the Dutch coach on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 local time.

However, Ten Hag, who is on vacation during this international break, believes that Manchester United boss will not kick him off during the holidays.

He also believes that there are still many who support him to stay at Old Trafford. Most recently, Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney expressed his support for the 54-year-old manager.

The 250-goal scorer for the Red Devils wants the club to keep Ten Hag.

"I hope he will remain responsible. It's frustrating to see them in 14th place. That's not the position they want," Rooney told TalkSPORT.

Despite providing support, Rooney still provides notes on Ten Hag's leadership.

According to him, the former Ajax Amsterdam manager doesn't deserve to just boast about the Carabao Cup and FA Cup trophies over the past two seasons.

Rooney insists Ten Hag must have ambitions to win the Premier League title because Manchester United's culture is closely related to the race for the league trophy.

"Your season is the Premier League. There is no better feeling than winning it."

"They've been through a few years without a challenge. It's important for you not to let that go," said Rooney, who is now the manager of the Championship club, Playmouth Argyle.

Manchester United had their worst start of the season in 35 years behind Erik ten Hag. They only won eight points from seven games so they were in 14th place in the standings.
