JAKARTA Students and the general public in the city of Solo and its surroundings have free access to watch the XVII 2024 National Paralympic Week (Peparnas).

Peparnas 2024 was officially opened by President Joko Widodo at Manahan Stadium, Solo, Central Java, on Sunday, October 6, 2024.

The head of the PB Peparnas XVII Solo 2024 Arena, Rini Kusumandari, confirmed that the organizers had communicated with the local Regional Government (Pemda) regarding free tickets for students and the community.

"We are still socializing it. Hopefully students and the general public can watch this Peparnas match live," said Rini in a statement received.

The free access applies to all 22 match venues. The venues are spread across four regions, namely Solo, Karanganyar, Sukoharjo, and Boyolali.

Rini said that the audience allocation for students and the general public could not be ascertained. So far, new organizers have only provided a circular for the local government.

"So, it's just an appeal, but we will coordinate with the Education Office (Dinas Pendidikan) about how many spectators per venue can be," he said.

Peparnas 2024 was recorded as 4,632 athletes and officials from 35 contingents. A total of 20 sports are contested in this event.
