Bogor Botanical Gardens Invites People To Donate Clean Water In Nusa Tenggara Through Running Events

BOGOR As a plant conservation center that also functions as a place for Indonesia's biodiversity education, the Bogor Botanical Gardens will hold 5K Charity Fun Run activities Going Around Gardens. This activity is a collaboration between the Bogor Botanical Gardens and the public figures Anjasmara Prasetya and Diah Palupi.

Anjasmara Prasetya, Diah Palupi and Kebun Raya Bogor were moved to raise funds through this activity to help people in providing clean water in villages in need in NTB and NTT.

Through the Plan International Indonesia Foundation (Plan Indonesia), all income from this activity will be used to build clean water facilities in the form of drill wells or installation of clean water distribution lines in NTB and NTT.

Anjasamara said this was motivated by the large number of people with limited clean water in NTB and NTT. They face major challenges due to lack of access to clean water.

"Every day, they and other residents have to struggle to buy or queue for hours to get water, often by traveling long distances, routes not safe, and additional costs," he explained.

With limitations to improve this situation, they are forced to live their daily lives as best they can. This condition makes Anjasmara Prasetya and Diah Palupi moved to raise funds and help people in the provision of clean water in villages in need in NTB and NTT.

"Therefore, we collaborated with the Bogor Botanical Gardens, initiating the 5K Charity Fun Run 'Going Around Gardens' activities," said Anjasmara.

Meanwhile, General Manager of the Bogor Botanical Gardens, Andreas F Kindangen explained that in this activity, participants will enjoy the Green Village area, which is a race village located in the finish line area, designed to provide a pleasant experience for running participants. Here, runners can relax while enjoying various entertainment and take part in educational classes about plants.

This unique combination between pleasure, food and learning ensures a memorable and enriching experience for all participants, said Andreas.

In the Green Village area, participants can take part in the Terrarium education class guided by experts from the Bogor Botanical Gardens. Terrarium is a method of planting ornamental plants in a see-through container that is arranged to resemble a mini park.

In addition to gaining new knowledge, participants will also bring home the terrarium they made themselves as a result of the practice in this class.

After participating in the 5K run, participants will be presented with uplifting and fun music entertainment, creating an atmosphere that allows participants to dance and enjoy the freshness of the Bogor Botanical Gardens. Apart from Anjasmara Prasetya and Diah Palupi, other guest stars were also present, namely Okantras and Putu Sutha.

Not only running, Putu Sutha will also sing to entertain the participants. Not only that, but the running participants will also be entertained by the live music performance of the DJ singer of the Sinar Mas Youth cassette and live music from Mozza and Miracle Entertainment.

Running activities held on Saturday, September 28, 2024, starting from 05:30 WIB to 11:00 WIB at Reinwardt Avenue, Bogor Botanical Gardens. In addition to running and various music entertainment, participants can also enjoy several choices of food and drinks to get rid of hunger and thirst.

Kegiatan di Green Village ini, juga bisa dinikmati oleh pengunjung Kebun Raya Bogor. Untuk pengunjung Kebun Raya Bogor yang sudah membeli tiket masuk, bisa menikmati area hiburan tanpa biaya tambahan. Peserta dan pengunjung kebun Raya juga berpotensi mendapat door prize menarik yang akan diundi seluruh acara.

This activity targets around 600 participants. Participants only pay Rp. 300 thousand to be able to help the people of NTB and NTT as well as get a healthy bonus after traveling around the garden.
