Dicemooh And Tottenham Almost Eliminated By Division One Club, This Is Ange Postecoglu's Response

Tottenham Hotspur almost eliminated in the early stages of the Carabao Cup so they received ridicule from supporters. In the duel against the Championship club or the One Division of Coventry City, Thursday, September 19, 2024 in the morning WIB, Tottenham could only win 2-1 through goals in the last minute.

"In the end, we showed real enthusiasm and character. This seems to have been missing for the previous four matches," Postecoglu praised his players who played with high spirits and never gave up as quoted by Mail Online.

"We showed the best performance and we didn't give up before we got the results. You can feel it for the last 10 minutes. We have strong faith and hope this is a good signal to move on," he said.

Postegoclu admitted that the decision to overhaul the composition of players resulted in an unsatisfactory team performance. Moreover, Coventry played quite well, making it difficult for The Lilywhites.

"When you do a lot of reshuffles, that's what happens. We don't even show the best game. On the other hand, Coventry plays excellent. They play full of energy and we have to last long enough," said Postecoglu.

"In the end, I was satisfied with what Djed and Brenna did. They were included and could make a difference. They were able to have an impact on the match," he said.

Even though he received ridicule from supporters, Postecoglu did not waver with his decision. He also said that the determination of players who started or those who sat on the bench was not based on the polling supporters.

"I field players not based on polls or surveys. Of course fans have their own opinion. But like I said players, say, Lucas [Bergvall] must undergo important matches like this," he said.

In addition, Postecoglu felt the need to rotate the players. The reason is, Tottenham will play important matches.
