Real Madrid Failed To Win, Ancelotti Was Wrong And Focused On The Match Against Real Betis

JAKARTA - Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti does not want to take cover with apologies for his bad results in the La Liga competition. Ancelotti called himself in charge and Madrid immediately focused on facing the next match.

Madrid almost lost before a 1-1 draw against Las Palmas in an away match, Friday, August 30, 2024 in the morning WIB. Not only failed to win, Madrid also conceded in the early minutes of the match.

Madrid were wary that they would lose the first defeat. Luckily when the game was almost over, the forward Vinicius Junior managed to equalize the score from the penalty spot.

The failure to get full points makes Madrid lose their chance to overshadow Barcelona, which is getting stronger at the top of the standings. Now, Los Merengues are four points behind Barca who won the perfect point in the first three matches.

The disappointing result did not necessarily make Ancelotti look for mistakes. He stated firmly that there was no time to regret the draw. Ancelotti did not want to blame or criticize the players, especially Kylian Mbppe, who never scored a goal.

Ancelotti, as quoted by Football Espana, stated that he was the most responsible for Los Merengues' new Los Merengues achievements and drew twice in La Liga's early matches.

"Obviously, we played badly in the first half. We had trouble scoring goals and playing without balance. We also had difficulty recovering. It was really the same tough game as when we faced Mallorca. There was no change. It was time to find a solution quickly. And we had to get it right away," said Ancelotti.

"Obviously, we had difficulty finding the solidity of the game like last season. But we won't look for excuses and just apologize," he said further.

According to Ancelotti, the team has immediately focused and prepared themselves for Real Betis at home at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, Monday, September 2, 2024 in the morning WIB.

"We face a tight schedule of matches with a short recovery time. On Sunday [Monday, early morning WIB], we have played the next match. So, I have to prepare myself and finalize my strategy and explain it to the players," said the former Juventus and AC Milan coach.

When alluding to Mbappe's barrenness, the former Chelsea manager will try Mbappe to show his best performance. According to him, not only Mbappe but also other players.

"I have to find a solution, and not a player. When there is a problem, the coach is responsible and must be able to find a solution," he said.

"We are indeed very slow. There is no mobility in the players. When the forward gets the ball, the opponent is already very close. On the other hand, when we don't have the ball, it's like opening up space [for the opponent]," he said.

"It's not a matter of mentality because the team has trained very well. It's just a problem where you haven't found the best way to play. When things don't go well, we have to fix it immediately," said Ancelotti again.

After facing Betis, the team will rest because they are surrounded by international matches. Ancelotti hopes that the team will be better off after the two-week competition holiday.
