Liverpool Completes Federico Chiesa's Recruitment From Juventus

Federico Chiesa is officially in Liverpool uniform (doc. Liverpool).

JAKARTA - Liverpool have officially introduced Federico Chiesa as a new player this season.

The 26-year-old became the second player to be recruited by Manager Arne Slot.

Chiesa was brought in from Juventus with a dowry of 10 million pounds. He could make his debut against Manchester United this weekend.

After reaching an agreement, Chiesa has completed a medical examination and completed a long-term agreement.

"I'm very happy to be a Liverpool player. When Richard Hughes called me and said, whether I wanted to join Liverpool, I immediately answered yes."

"The problem is, I know the history of this club. So, I'm very happy and can't wait to get started," Chiesa said on Liverpool's official website.

Chiesa joined Fiorentina's youth team and continued to rise to senior debuts. At the age of 18 he had already fought Juventus in Serie A 2016/2017.

He played for Fiorentina 153 times and scored 34 goals before moving to Juventus in October 2020.

Initially, Chiesa came to Turin on loan two years later which became permanent in May 2022.

Towards the end of his first brilliant season in Turin, Chiesa scored a winning goal in the Coppa Italia 2021 final against Atalanta.

He suffered an anterior cruciatum ligament injury in the middle of the following season which kept him out for nearly 10 months.

However, Chiesa was able to return to her best form. In the final season at Juventus, she scored 33 Serie A appearances and scored 10 goals in 37 appearances in all competitions.

Together with the Old Lady, Chiesa won the Coppa Italia title twice.

Federico Chiesa is also a mainstay in the Italian national team. He is part of the Gli Azzurri who won Euro 2020.

The attacking midfielder appeared in all Italian matches at the time and collected two goals. His appearance made him included in the ranks of the Euro 2020 Best Squad.

Recently, Chiesa appeared four times for the Azzurri at Euro 2024. In total, he has played 51 times for the Italian national team.

After four seasons and 131 appearances with Juventus, he headed for Anfield to fill the latest chapter of his career.

He became the second player Arne Slot recruited after Liverpool signed Giorgi Mamardashvili from Valencia earlier this week.
