The U-20 Indonesian National Team Will Face Thailand, Indra Sjafri Asks Players To Keep Working Hard

After facing Argentina U-20, Indonesia U-20 will meet Thailand U-20 at the Seoul Earth on Us Cup 2024 (doc. PSSI).

JAKARTA - The U-20 Indonesian national team will undergo their second match at the Seoul Earth on Us Cup 2024 against Thailand U-20. Even though in the first match they won over Argentina U-20, Indra Sjafri as a coach did not want his troops to be happy and still asked to work hard.

In the inaugural match of this mini tournament, Indonesia U-20 met Argentina U-20 at the Mokdong Stadium, Seoul. In the match which was held on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, Indra Sjafri's team won 2-1 even though they were initially left behind.

Successfully winning over Argentina, whose level is above the world football line, is clearly something to be proud of. However, according to Indra Sjafri, his team, Haris, could return to focus and not be complacent.

Especially after meeting Argentina, they still have to face Thailand which is also taken into account. Therefore, Indra Sjafri asked his team to continue working hard and consider all matches important.

"I always emphasize that every match is important. Every match must be addressed with hard work and in accordance with what we agreed on before the match," said Indra Sjafri in a statement quoted on Thursday, August 29, 2024.

In preparation for facing Thailand, Indra revealed that the Indonesian U-20 national team players had just held a recovery exercise after competing against Argentina.

In addition, the 61-year-old tactician also took advantage of a short match time lag to finalize a strategy to face his next opponent.

"After yesterday we finished the match with Argentina, today we recover."

"Because the distance between matches is only one day, in the morning we use recovery, then there will be discussions for yesterday's match, evaluation, and preparation of game plan matches against Thailand," he said.

Facing Thailand in the second match, Indra Sjafri also emphasized to the players to be able to carry out their respective duties after the planned game plan.

"That (game plan) must be carried out and the task of the 11 players on the field is truly. It (the task) is in accordance with what we have charged them (the players)," said the coach.
