Indra Sjafri Asks The U-20 Indonesian Squad To Stay Happy

The U-20 Indonesian national team defeated Argentina U-20 in the inaugural match of Seoul Earth on Us Cup 2024 (doc. PSSI).

JAKARTA - The U-20 Indonesian national team coach, Indra Sjafri, said he was proud of his team's successful achievements in conquering Argentina U-20. Even so, there was one important message conveyed to the players.

The Indonesian U-20 national team met Argentina at the Seoul Earth on Us Cup 2024. Competing at the Mokdong Stadium on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, Indra Sjafri's squad managed to win 2-1 even though they had left behind.

The achievement of his foster children is clearly proud for Indra Sjafri. After the match, the coach said he was happy, but he also left a message so that his team would not be arrogant and continue to apply rice science.

"The most important thing is that yesterday's victory (over Argentina) must be handled fairly. Don't be complacent, arrogant. Continue to use rice science, the more it contains," said Indra Sjafri in his statement quoted on Thursday, August 29, 2024.

Furthermore, Indra Sjafri wants to make victory over Argentina an additional energy for various important events to be faced.

Especially after the mini tournament, Kadek Arel and his friends will also undergo the 2025 U-20 Asian Cup Qualification.

"The important thing is that yesterday's winning response must be a motivation for us to be able to work better and achieve the ideals of Indonesia U-20 to qualify (the 2025 U-20 Asian Cup) and be able to qualify for the 2025 World Cup (U-20 2025)," said the coach.

The performance of Indonesia U-20 against Argentina deserves appreciation. Garuda Muda had been left behind since the 16th minute through Mirko Juares Zemlich's header.

Kadek Arel and Mouri Ananda Yves Ramli Simon scored in the second half to surprise the opponent.

Kadek Arel equalized through a hard header after maximizing Mouri Ananda's free kick in the 75th minute. Then, Mouri Ananda managed to put the Indonesian national team ahead through a goal from a penalty kick five minutes later.

After fighting Argentina, the U-20 Indonesian national team will face Thailand U-20 on Friday, August 30, 2024. With a narrow time lag, Indra Sjafri focused on restoring the condition of the players.
