Three Persija Players Called By The Indonesian National Team, Carlos Pena Hopes No Injury

JAKARTA - Persija Jakarta coach, Carlos Pena, revealed that there are three players who can trust to defend the Indonesian national team. Welcoming this opportunity, the coach hopes that all players are optimal and can return without injury.

The Indonesian national team is scheduled to undergo the Third Round of Qualification for the 2026 World Cup in September 2024. For this agenda, Shin Tae-yong summoned three Persija players, namely Rizky Ridho, Muhammad Ferarri, and Witan Sulaeman.

The summoning of the three Kemayoran Tiger players was known to Carlos Pena. The coach also admitted that there was no problem releasing the three players because the competition was also on international break when the Indonesian national team agenda was running.

"(Rizky) Ridho, (Muhammad) Ferrari, and Witan (Sulaeman) were summoned to the Indonesian national team," said Carlos Pena in his statement quoted on Monday, August 26, 2024.

Furthermore, the Spaniard advised his players to make the best contribution to the Indonesian national team. In addition, he also hopes that the condition of the three is fine when they return to the club.

"Players who are called to the Indonesian national team I hope they can provide good performance, win, and hopefully they won't get injured," he said.

Despite Carlos Pena's hopes for his three players, the Indonesian national team is scheduled to conduct a training camp (TC) at the end of August 2024 before finally jumping into the 2026 World Cup Qualification.

In the inaugural match, the Indonesian national team will face Saudi Arabia. The meeting took place at King Abdullah on September 6, 2024.
