Balum Kapok, Floyd Mayweather Jr. Still Has A Schedule For Three Exhibition Duels

JAKARTA Floyd Mayweather Jr. has not given up on boxing. Even though he is 47 years old, the unbeaten boxer still wants to continue to enter the ring in the exhibition match. At least three more fights he wants to play, before hanging up his boxing gloves.

Mayweather's last exhibition match was against MMA fighter John Gotti III. The exhibition duel was held in Mexico City on Saturday night, August 24, 2024. Held eight rounds with two minutes each, Mayweather Jr won absolute points over Gotti.

"I've got a contract for three more exhibition fights, and the pay is crazy. If I feel like I can't afford it and have been beaten by the opponent, then I resign," Mayweather was quoted as saying by The Sun.

Mayweather denied that everything he was doing was just for the sake of money.

"Not just because of money! I'm doing this because of will, and I'm not harmed at all. I'm happy to see the audience happy and enjoying, happy to meet many people, happy to have new acquaintances, and of course traveling to new places," said Mayweather again.

Mayweather's official pro-length boxing bout was when he won the TKO round 10 over Conor McGregor in Las Vegas, August 26, 2017. After that he continued to fight the exhibition, and was not included in his 50-0-0 (27 KO) record.

The exhibition fight against Gotti III has been Mayweather's eighth appearance in entertainment matches since 2018. He traveled the world for the 'circine boxer' he underwent, including in Japan, England, the United States, Mexico, and Saudi Arabia.
