The Opening Of The Aceh-North PON Will Be Carried Out September 9, 2024

JAKARTA - The opening of the XXI Aceh National Sports Week (PON)-North Sumatra will be held on Monday, September 9, at 19.00 WIB at the Harapan Bangsa Stadium, Banda Aceh. The opening refers to the decision of the Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) Dito Ariotedjo which stipulates that the XXI Aceh-North PON is September 9, in Banda Aceh City.

"All parties are expected to adjust the schedule and synergize to make the XXI/2024 PON a success," said Head of the Aceh Youth and Sports Service (Dispora), M Nasir Syamaun, in Banda Aceh, Saturday, August 24.

The secretary of PB-PON for the Aceh region said that the opening of the PON was held on Monday, September 9, 2024, at 19.00 WIB at the Harapan Bangsa Stadium, Banda Aceh. Meanwhile, the closing is scheduled to take place on September 20, 2024.

This schedule is set based on a letter from the Minister of Youth and Sports Number B-PO/8.22.32/MENPORA/VIII/2024. Also expect President Joko Widodo's presence to officially open this national sporting event.

The letter has been copied to various important parties, namely the General Chairperson of the Central KONI, the General Chairperson of the PB/PP Sports Branch, and the Chairman of the Supervisory and Steering Committee (Panwasrah) of PON XXI/2024.

He conveyed that his party had also coordinated with various related parties to ensure that all preparations for the opening would later run well.

"We hope that this event will become a historic momentum for the world of sports in Indonesia, especially in Aceh and North Sumatra," he said as quoted by ANTARA.

M Nasir added that the opening ceremony of PON would later become the main focus marking the start of the biggest inter-provincial sports competition in Indonesia.

His party promised to show the best, especially since all Acehnese people were very enthusiastic about welcoming the presence of athletes and guests from all over the archipelago.

"We hope that all parties together succeed the Aceh-North PON which will also have a positive impact on tourism promotion and investment in Aceh," said M Nasir Syamaun.
