Liga 1 2024/2025 Results: Rashid's Final Minute Goal Help Persebaya Win 2-1 Over Barito Putera

JAKARTA - Persebaya Surabaya managed to achieve perfect results in the third week of Liga 1 2024/2025. Facing Barito Putera, Mohammed Rashid's last-minute goal led Bajul Ijo to a 2-1 win.

Taking place at Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium, Surabaya, on Friday, August 23, 2024, WIB night, Barito Putera as the visitors shocked Persebaya with a quick goal.

When the game had only been running for one minute, Lucas Morelatto took advantage of Ernando Ari's pass. The visitors can then lead 1-0.

After the visitors' quick goal, Persebaya tried to appear more vigilant. They then threatened in the 21st minute through Mohammed Rashid's long-range shot which turned out to be still secure by Barito goalkeeper Satria Tama.

Three minutes later, Barito Putera even got disaster. In the 24th minute they were forced to appear with 10 players after Chechu Meneses deliberately handball to prevent the ball from entering the net.

Because of the incident, Persebaya got a penalty kick. Bruno stepped up as the executor and managed to score a goal to make the score 1-1 which lasted until halftime.

Persebaya almost added a goal after halftime. Alfan Suaib got a chance in front of goal, but his shot was still far from the target.

The home team continued to attack Barito Putera's defense because the number of players was superior. Even so, no goals have been created until entering the 75th minute.

Barito Putera attacked back in the 80th minute. Youssef Ezzejjari's shot still missed the target and the draw situation lasted until normal time was over.

Instead of the match ending in a draw, Persebaya managed to score a winning goal in injury time. Mohammed Rashid's long-range shot slid into Barito's goal and ensured Bajul Ijo's 2-1 victory.

This victory led Persebaya to the top of the 2024/2025 Liga 1 standings with seven points from three matches. Barito Putera stuck in 10th place with three points.
