Asian School Badminton Championship 2024 Followed By 8 Countries

JAKARTA A total of eight countries will certainly participate in the 2024 Asian School Badminton Championship (ASBC) which will take place in August 2024.

The chairman of the ASBC Implementing Committee, Luhur Dewantoro, confirmed the number of participants at a press conference at the Office of the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora) on Thursday, August 22, 2024, noon WIB.

"Eight of these participating countries are Brunei Darusalam, Hong Kong, China, Malaysia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Indonesia as hosts," he said.

The Asian School Badminton Championship 2024 will be held from August 25 to September 2, 2024 in Semarang, Central Java.

"We are at the same time working together to strengthen friendship at the student level of all Asian countries," said Luhur.

This ASBC will involve badminton athletes from the training camp (Pelatnas) of the Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) Cipayung, East Jakarta.

The Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora), Dito Ariotedjo, revealed that currently the Menpora U-16 Cup is also taking place in six regions of Indonesia with the aim of providing more experience to young athletes.

"This is also in order to add potential athletes who hope to be followed up by PBSI and have an impact on the 2028 and 2032 Olympics," he said.
