JAKARTA The Central Board of the Indonesian Basketball Association (PP Perbasi) has started to open the registration of candidates for general chairman (ketum) for the 2024-2028 term of service.
The Indonesian basketball Federation plans to hold a national meeting with the main agenda of selecting the general chairman in Jakarta on October 28-30, 2024.
The general chairman candidate will be able to take a registration form starting Wednesday, August 14, 2024, until August 23, 2024.
The head of the Penjaringan Team, Setia Dharma Madjid, said that the registration form must be returned from 23 August 2024 to 23 September 2024 for later processing by his team.
"The administrative equipment included includes registration forms, integrity pact documents, and several other documents, including never being sentenced to either civil or criminal and/or not being subject to legal problems, both civil and criminal," said Dharma.

At the time of registration, prospective candidates must include written evidence requirements for support from 15 provincial administrators (pengprov) signed by each general chairman.
The announcement of a legitimate candidate for chairman of the congress will be carried out during the national deliberation later.
Dharma revealed that when returning the form, prospective candidates are also required to submit funds of Rp. 500 million as a form of commitment and seriousness in running for the Head of PP Perbasi.
"This is important because the Head of PP Perbasi must then seriously continue the baton of achievements that have been twisted by the current management," he said.
Currently PP Perbasi is led by General Chair Danny Kosasih. He has led the Indonesian basketball federation for two terms.
Danny has confirmed that he will no longer run for ketum nomination for the next period. Thus, PP Perbasi will have a new leader.
