Victor Osimhen Asks To Be Selled, Chelsea Gets Fresh Wind

JAKARTA Chelsea got a breath of fresh air in their bid to get Victor Osimhen after the player met Napoli's sporting director, Giovanni Manna to ask to be placed on the club's sell list.

Amid speculation about his future, Osimhen was not fielded by coach Antonio Conte as Napoli won over Modena in the first round of the Coppa Italia, Saturday night.

Football London reported that Giovanni Manna confirmed that the 25-year-old striker was absent following his desire to leave Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.

"He asked to leave. We are calm because we have players in the squad who can replace him in the best possible way. However, we don't want to damage the integrity of the team and want to defend it. We'll see what happens in the next few days," Manna said.

This is what makes Chelsea's chances of getting Victor Osimhen even more open. Moreover, Real Madrid have got Kylian Mbappe, Arsenal have stopped their search for the center forward for a while and Paris Saint-Germain are satisfied with Randal Kolo Muani and Goncalo Ramos' performances.

Despite being at the forefront of Osimhen's hunt, the Blues are believed to be reluctant to pay 85.6 million, as Napoli requested.

This is because Nigeria's international striker's move also depends on Romelu Lukaku's interest in Napoli coach Antonio Conte.

Both Chelsea and Napoli still have until August 30 to find a solution related to the transfer involving Victor Osimhen and Romelu Lukaku. Moreover, both players have opened up to exchange clubs in the 2024-2025 season.
