Megawati Reveals The Cause Of Indonesia's Defeat In The SEA V League

JAKARTA - The women's volleyball national team player Megawati Hanggetri Pertiwi revealed the cause of Indonesia's defeat in the two 2024 SEA V League matches at Vinh Puch, Vietnam.

Megawati Hanggestri, who for the second time scored the most points in the 2024 SEA V League, admitted that her performance was not good because the Indonesian players had not practiced for a long time after the 2024 Proliga.

Proliga 2024 ended on July 21. After that, the players took a vacation after four months of competing in Proliga. When appearing in the 2024 SEA V League, the new players gathered at the airport and trained only once and only one hour.

"After the Proliga was completed, I didn't practice. Just practicing when I got here. There was no preparation, because we took a vacation after a long time with the Proliga. The event was tight with the Proliga. Of course it is difficult to play well if there is no preparation. Hopefully we in Thailand can get up," said Megawati

Previously, Vietnam defeated the Indonesian women's volleyball national team in the second match of the 2024 SEA V League volleyball league. Indonesia gave up 0-3 (19-25, 17-25, 19-25) at Vinh Puch, Saturday (3/8/2024).

The defeat was the second in the 2024 SEA V League after Thailand's first day of defeat 0-3, Friday (2/8/2024).

Megawati remains Indonesia's highest scorer by scoring 13 points, followed by Arsela who has 11 points. In Vietnam's camp, Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen posted 14 points and became the most fertile scorer.

Commenting on the results of the match, coach Chamnan Dokmai said his team's performance was not as good as when facing Thailand.

"Today the children played worse than against Thailand. The defense was easily penetrated and the attack was strong," he said.

According to Dokmai, it is difficult for any player to play well after not practicing for a long time. We only practice for one hour. The more than two weeks of absence from training after the Proliga was completed," he said.

However, the Thai coach is sure that when the SEA V League is held in his country next week, the Indonesian women's volleyball national team will improve in terms of film.
