JAKARTA - Then Muhammad Zohri, Indonesia's flagship sprinter, was stopped in the first round of the men's 100 meters athletics at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Appearing in Heat 1 after qualifying from the preliminary round, Zohri was only able to finish sixth on Saturday, August 3, 2024.

He recorded a time of 10.26 seconds. The failure to penetrate the top three positions made Zohri unable to continue the steps to the semifinals.

Zohri actually started well. He had time to compete in the front position as soon as the start started.

However, slowly other runners can outperform the 24-year-old sprinter.

The first position is occupied by a sprinter from Jamaica who is the successor to Usain Bolt, Kishane Thomson. He recorded a time of 10 seconds.

Benjamin Azamati (Ghana) with a time of 10.08 seconds managed to occupy second place followed by Cuban runner Reynaldo Espinosa, who carved a time of 10.11 seconds.

The three sprinters have the right to qualify for the men's 100-meter semifinals.
