JAKARTA - The 2024 President's Cup will take place on July 19, 2024 in three cities, namely Bandung, Bali, and Solo. There are eight participating teams that will be divided into two groups.

The 2024 President's Cup will be the sixth place in this pre-season agenda since 2015.

This year, the participants who will enliven are Persib Bandung, Borneo FC, PSM Makassar, Persis Solo, Arema FC, Persija Jakarta, Madura United, and Bali United.

These eight teams have been divided into two groups consisting of four teams each. Persib Bandung, Borneo FC, PSM Makassar, and Persis Solo are members of Group A. While Group B is filled by Arema FC, Persija Jakarta, Madura United, and Bali United.

Regarding the classification of the division of teams in each group, Ferry Paulus as a member of the 2024 Presidential Cup Steering Committee gave his reasons.

He said that there were several criteria that were used as the basis for including a number of clubs above to participate in the 2024 Presidential Cup.

"Because this is the title of the President's Cup, there are three teams that must participate. They are Persib Bandung, Persija Jakarta, and Arema FC," said Ferry Paulus explaining at the 2024 Presidential Cup Launching event in Senayan Area on Monday, July 15, 2024.

In addition, Ferry Paulus also explained that Persib Bandung, Persis Solo, and Bali United were included in the competition because they were a team of residents of the location where they were held. He also explained the reasons for including other teams in this edition.

"Then we also use three different locations, we include the host, yes, Persib Bandung, Persis Solo, and Bali United."

"Then, there are four more participants who join the background that they are participants in the Asian Cup, there are Madura United, Persib Bandung, PSM Makassar, and Borneo FC."

"The division of groups is also of course based on seeded. Then, what is no less important is the resistance of rivalry. So, clubs with high rivalry should not meet at the beginning."

"That's why we separated Persib Bandung and Persija Jakarta. It is possible that another seed was based on the rankings of last season's Regular Series (League 1) competition," said Ferry.

In the 2024 President's Cup, the round of 16 will be held in two cities, namely Bandung and Bali, with Si Jalak Harupat Stadium and I Wayan Dipta Stadium as locations.

When entering the semifinal phase until the final, the match will be held centrally in Solo City, precisely at Manahan Stadium.
