Paolini, who beat Donna Vekic in the all-time longest semifinals of Wimbledon women to become the first Italian woman to reach the final, was able to avenge a service defeat in the next service game.

Paolini left the field, possibly to take a deep breath, and come back with a burning spirit. Directly, the momentum shifted as Paolini took advantage of Krejcikova's mistake of leading 3-0 with several winning punches flowing smoothly.

Before receiving the trophy, Krejcikova, who was 28, also paid tribute to his 1998 friend and mentor and champion Wimbledon from Brno, Jana Novotna, who died in 2017.

"Jana is the one who told me that I have potential and should turn into a professional, and before dying, she advised me to go and win a Grand Slam," said Krejcikova, who added the Wimbledon title in addition to having a French Open 2021 trophy and having 10 double Grand Slam titles, including two at the All England Club.

Despite the tears of happiness for Krejcikova, it was grief for the popular Paolini. She also lost the French Open final a few weeks ago and attempted to become the first Italian woman to win the Wimbledon title in singles.

"Today I am a little sad. I tried to keep smiling because I have to remember that today is still a good day, I reached the Wimbledon final," said Paolini, who has a cheerful personality that shines on this tournament.

Krejcikova is determined to continue the Czech champions Wimbledon tradition, including Marketa Vondrousova who won last year's title, and he started the game with strong dominance.
