JAKARTA - The Persija Jakarta Club will bring four of its young players, with the positions of goalkeeper, defender and midfielder, to the 2021 Menpora Cup pre-season tournament.

The four players are goalkeeper Cahya Supriadi, center back Reza Fauzan, and midfielders Raka Cahyana and Muhammad Fajar Firdaus.

"We are of course selective in choosing these four players. We hope they can gain experience in the senior team and give their best performance if they play in the Menpora Cup," said coach Persija Sudirman as quoted by PSSI's official website via Antara, Thursday, March 18.

According to Sudirman, the decision was made based on the results of monitoring of the four foster children during their training at Persija's Elite Pro Academy (EPA).

The EPA coach Persija also recommended their names to be promoted to the senior squad for 'Macan Kemayoran'. "As a result, these four players are deemed suitable to complete Persija's squad for the 2021 Menpora Cup," said Sudirman.

The 2021 Menpora Cup pre-season tournament will take place on March 21-April 25 2021. In this competition, Persija is in Group B with Bhayangkara FC, Borneo FC and PSM.

All group matches were held at the Kanjuruhan Stadium, Malang. Persija's first match in the Menpora Cup was held on Monday, March 22 against PSM Makassar. Riko Simanjuntak and friends will go to Malang on Saturday, March 20.
