Vietnam U-16 Coach Sends Layer Players Against Indonesia U-16

JAKARTA - Vietnam U-16 experienced an unconvincing condition ahead of the U-16 Indonesian national team in the race for third place in the 2024 AFF U-16 Cup. Tran Minh Chien as the head coach will field coating players.

The fight for third place for the 2024 AFF U-16 Cup will take place at the Manahan Stadium, Solo, on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at 15.00 WIB. Ahead of the match, Vietnam U-16 was hit by a storm of injuries in the main squad after fighting Thailand U-16.

According to Tran Minh Chien, the condition of the players is so worrying that he cannot guarantee whether they can recover on time. So far, it is known that four players from the main Vietnam U-16 squad have suffered serious injuries after fighting Thailand U-16.

"After the match against Thailand U-16, we discussed with the medical department and found that the player's health condition was very worrying," said the coach in his statement quoted Wednesday, July 3, 2024.

"A total of four of the 11 main players were injured. The coaching staff were very worried before the third place match against Indonesia U-16."

"We don't know if they will recover on time to play the game or not," he said.

Although Vietnam U-16 was difficult to deal with ahead of the match against Indonesia U-16, Tran Minh Chien did not give up. He then indicated to play the coating players in the third place.

Moreover, the coach also felt that the performance of the reserve players was no less good than being relied on against Indonesia U-16.

"Sometimes in football there are things that must be accepted. Even though the U-16 Vietnamese player has suffered an injury in almost half of the squad, we have other players who also have good strength. That is an opportunity that can be used," said the coach.
