Nova Arianto Intends To Rotate Indonesian U-16 Players When Meeting Vietnam U-16

The U-16 Indonesian national team will meet Vietnam U-16 in the race for third place in the 2024 AFF U-16 Cup (doc. PSSI).

JAKARTA - The U-16 Indonesian national team will undergo a match for third place in the 2024 AFF U-16 Cup against Vietnam U-16. The match took place at Manahan Stadium, Solo, on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at 15.00 WIB.

Nova Arianto as the coach of Garuda Muda intends to rotate the players. There is a possibility of lowering goalkeepers who have never been played before.

"There is a possibility. We'll see," he said in a statement before the match.

In the previous match, Nova did entrust Muhammad Nur Ichsan to guard under the crossbar. Ichsan was on guard in three group stage matches and the semifinals.

Furthermore, Nova also said there was an option to change the strategy and rotate the players during the Vietnam U-16 meeting. However, he still emphasized that the players must remain focused so that the results obtained from can be maximized.

"Players must remain focused because we have to maximize the last match so that the results can also be maximized," said the coach.

Despite the tactics that will be applied by the coach, Garuda Muda will certainly fail to defend the title won in 2022. The reason is, Indonesia U-16 lost against Australia U-16 with a score of 3-5 in the semifinals.

However, the chance to win the title of third place against Vietnam U-16 is still wide open.
