Test Body Limit On A Honda RC213V-S In Catalunya, Marquez Gives A 'Comeback' Signal

JAKARTA - Marc Marquez showed signs that he was getting ready to fight again in MotoGP when on Tuesday the star of the Repsol Honda team took part in a private test session at the Barcelona-Catalunya Circuit.

Marquez failed to defend his world title last season after crashing in the opener in Jerez, Spain, which injured him and missed the remainder of the season affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

After being allowed by a team of doctors to undergo more intensive training, the eight-time world champion returned to the track in a minibike at the Circuit de Alcarras in Catalunya a few days ago.

"After eight months and following the doctor's approval at the last check-up I finally felt this again even on a minibike", wrote Marquez on social media.

Then on Tuesday, the Repsol Honda team uploaded a video of Marquez bulldozing the Barcelona-Catalunya Circuit track using a mass production Honda RC213V-S motorbike, testing his body limits with a ride close to the MotoGP bike version.

Even though he missed the pre-season test session for five days last week in Qatar, Marquez's name has been listed on the entry list for riders in the opening series in Qatar, March 28.
