Barnabas Varga Collapses When Hungary Beat Scotland

JAKARTA - The final match of Group A Euro 2024 gave birth. The Scottish vs Hungary battle at MHPArena on Monday, June 24, 2024, early morning WIB, was marked by the collapse incident of Barnabas Varga.

The Hungarian striker was unconscious after colliding with Scottish goalkeeper, Angus Gunn. Sikut Gunn seemed to hit Varga's face during an aerial duel.

Varga immediately fell and lay motionless. Suddenly, the referee immediately stopped the game and asked the medical team to quickly enter the field.

The medical team immediately provided first aid. The players of the two teams then made barricades around Varga who was receiving treatment.

In addition, it turns out that the medical team also brought a kind of cloth to provide Varga with privacy space so that it would not be highlighted by the camera and spectators.

The incident caused the match to stop for about 10 minutes due to Varga's injury to be very worrying. The 19-back-number striker was then taken on a stretcher for further help.

Varga's teammates seemed unable to hide their worries. In fact, several players including Liverpool star and Hungarian captain Dominik Szoboszlai, were seen crying.

Szoboszlai even ran along with carrying a stretcher to speed up off the field and get further help.

For this negligence, the BBC apologized for the release of the clip.

"We were just as surprised as you were when they replayed the incident. There are protocols about this kind of thing after Christian Eriksen three years ago."

When the match restarted, video clips on social media were busy showing Varga leaving the stadium in an ambulance. The latest report says he is conscious and can communicate with paramedics.
