Indonesian Lifters For The 2024 Paris Olympics Have No Psychological Problems

JAKARTA Three Indonesian weightlifters who have confirmed themselves to qualify for the 2024 Paris Olympics do not have psychological problems when the world's largest multi-event event is getting closer.

Chef de Mission (CdM) of the Indonesian contingent, Anindya Novyan Bakrie, said that the weightlifting federation (PB PABSI) has confirmed that so far the lifters who will fly to Paris will not face any problems.

"I underline the importance of psychology. I asked my friends (athletes) earlier (to the federation) the psychology was good so it had to be maintained," said Anindya when visiting the weightlifting training at Mess Kwini, Jakarta, on Friday, June 14, 2024, evening WIB.

The three lifters who received tickets to the 2024 Paris Olympics were Rizki Juniansyah (class 73 kilograms), Eko Yuli Irawan (class 61 kilograms), and Nurul Akmal (class +81 kilograms).

They are now continuing to undergo extra training every day before leaving for Paris on July 21, 2024. Preparations will continue in Montpellier pending a match date.

Anindya said that her party will continue to provide logistical support and infrastructure and always coordinate with the federation during athlete preparation.

"I have also spoken with the General Chair of PABSI and earlier it was conveyed that the importance of coaches and masseurs is to accompany athletes there," said Anindya again.

The 2024 Paris Olympics will take place on July 26-11 August 2024. The weightlifting sports (sports) will be contested on 7-11 August 2024.

Weightlifting will be one of the sports that are relied on to get medals for Indonesia in Paris later. In Olympic history, this sport has contributed seven silver medals and eight bronze medals.

Indonesia departs for the 2024 Paris Olympics with a target of getting more than two gold medals for the first time in the history of participating in the Olympics. In other words, the target passed the 1992 Olympics gold ink as the best achievement today.
