Schedule For The Second Day Of The Australian Open 2024: 7 Indonesian Representatives Play

Ester Nurumi Tri Wadoyo will appear on the second day of the 2024 Australian Open (doc. PBSI).

JAKARTA The Australian Open 2024 is entering its second day on Wednesday, June 12, 2024. A total of seven Indonesian representatives will play in the Super 500 BWF level event.

The series of matches in Quaycentre, Sydney, Australia, started at 09.00 local time or 06.00 WIB.

The seven Indonesian representatives who will appear are Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo, Alwi Farhan, Ester Nurumi Tri Wardoyo, Putri Kusuma Wardani, Komang Ayu Cahya Dewi, Jafar Hidayatullah/Aisyah Salsabila Putri Pranata, and Rehan Naufal Kusharjanto/Lisa Ayu Kusumawati.

Komang will be Indonesia's first representative to enter the field. He played in Field 2's first match against the host's singles daughter, Victoria Tjonadi, who qualified for the main round after going through qualification.

Putri then followed on Field 4. The 21-year-old women's singles participated in the second match against Vietnam's women's singles, Vu Thi Anh Thu. This is the first competitive meeting between the two badminton players.

In a row on the same field after Putri will appear in the mixed doubles of Rehan/Lisa in the fifth party, Ester's singles in the ninth match, and Alwi's men's singles in the eleventh match.

Meanwhile, Chico will appear in the fourth party on Field 3. Ester's older brother is scheduled to clash with the host's men's singles, Jack Yu.

Another match shows the mixed doubles of Jafar Hidayatullah/Aisyah Salsabila Putri Pranata. The pair appeared in the eighth match in Field 1.

Jafar/Aisyah will meet their former colleagues at the Cipayung PBSI National Training Center (Pelatnas), namely Pramudya Kusumawardana. Pram now carries the Australian flag with Nozomi Shimizu.

In addition to playing in mixed doubles, Pram also performed with Andika Ramadiansyah in the men's doubles. In that number both have won their first round matches.

Indonesia actually still has women's doubles Febriana Dwi Puji Kusuma/Amalia Cahaya Pratiwi. However, this pair got an empty draw in the first half so they immediately played the second round of the tournament against Priska Kustiadi/Nozomi Shimizu.

Apart from Ana/Tiwi, Indonesia also secured one ticket to the other second half through the men's doubles veteran Hendra Setiawan/Mohammad Ahsan. This pair passed the first round after facing the host doubles, Lukas Defolky/Ricky Tang, Tuesday, June 11, 2024.
