The non-Pelatnas pair PBSI Cipayung will next meet representatives of Malaysia, Man Wei Chong/Kai Wun Tee. The pair got a semifinal ticket after beating Lu Ching Yao/Yang Po Han (China Taipei).

"We know they are on fire, but both of us don't want to be discouraged and remain optimistic," said Sabar.

Two Indonesian representatives previously ran aground in the quarter-finals, namely Dejan Ferdinansyah/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja and Gregoria Mariska Tunjung.

Dejan/Gloria fell against sixth seed from Thailand, Dechapol Puavaranukroh/Sapsiree Taerattanachai, while Gregoria gave up during a duel against Chinese representative Wang Zhi Yi.

Gregoria's defeat also made representatives of Indonesia who had previously confirmed that tickets to the 2024 Paris Olympics had run out in this tournament.

A total of six Indonesian representatives have qualified for Paris to play at the Indonesia Open 2024. However, only Gregoria was able to make the farthest journey to the top eight.
