JAKARTA There are still five sports (sports) that have not passed their athletes to the 2024 Paris Olympics which will take place in the middle of this year.

The Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora), Dito Ariotedjo, hopes that the sports, which have received disbursement from the Government for qualifications, can follow in the footsteps of eight other sports.

"As many as 13 sports that work together, we are sure we can pass the 2024 Olympics. Now there are only eight, there are still five more sports left. All of that in June 2024 will be visible," said Dito.

The signing of the cooperation between the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the 13 sports took place in February 2024. They received total funding assistance of Rp. 81.3 billion.

The five sports that have also received funding from the government, but so far have not passed their representatives to Paris are athletics, judo, taekwondo, aquatics, and volleyball.

The sports that have not secured tickets each receive Rp5.7 billion (volleys), Rp3.6 billion (athletics), Rp1.4 billion (taekwondo), Rp4.1 billion (judo), and Rp4.8 billion (aquatics).

Dito said that his party continues to monitor the sports to find out developments. He also asked the concerned sports to continue to coordinate if there were problems in preparation for Paris.

"(Coordination with us) so that we can find solutions and move quickly," said the Menpora.

So far, the eight sports that have received funding and have passed the athletes are weightlifting, badminton, archery, shooting, gymnastics, surfing, cycling, and rowing.

The FPTI or rock climbing federation submitted the overall funding process to the Ministry of Youth and Sports. Therefore, their funding is directly communicated intensively to the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
