JAKARTA - Young Indonesian racers again gave a positive note. He is Veda Ega Pratama who is competing in the Red Bull Rookies Cup 2024.

After finishing 11th in the opening race 2 at the Jerez Circuit two weeks ago and finishing 10th in the second race 1 at the Le Mans Circuit, France, on Saturday (11/5), the 15-year-old racer sharpened his racing record by finishing seventh in the second race 2 at the Le Mans Circuit on Sunday.

Veda, who started the race from 11th position, in the first lap was thrown in 13th position before then on the second lap he overtook Kevin Farkas for 12th place and moved up to 11th after Ruche Noodley fell.

On the fourth lap, the racer from Gunungkidul, Yogyakarta Special Region (DIY) preceded Carter Thompson for 10th position.

Veda's position continued to rise and on lap five, he took ninth place after overtaking Kristian Daniel.

Veda continues to spur its motor gas in this race by continuing to keep his distance from the groups of racers in front of it.

He then recorded the best lap when entering the sixth lap with a time of 1 minute 45.106 seconds.

He took advantage of this momentum by overtaking two riders at once, namely Marco Morelli and Giulio Pugliese on the seventh lap to secure seventh position.

Morelli took over his position, but the best lap he recorded again with 1 minute 45.033 seconds sent him back to secure the seventh position of the Argentine racer.

Entering the ninth lap, Veda was getting faster where he sharpened his best lap record with 1 minute 44,663 seconds, with moments later he moved up to sixth after Alvaro Carpe's overtake.

He was in fifth position on the eleventh lap before Rico Salmela. However, the next lap will be taken over by Carpe.

Veda is close to finishing the race with 15 laps in sixth position. However, Morelli, who stalked him behind, recorded a fastest time of 1 minute 44.019 seconds to take over sixth place at the last turns before the finish line.

Veda finally closed the second series of the Red Bull Rookies Cup at the Le Mans Circuit in seventh place.

Meanwhile, two Spanish racers Brian Rightrte and Maximo Quiles secured first and second place in this race.

The second position was followed by Malaysian racer Hakim Danish who completed the third podium.

Despite finishing in second place, Quiles still leads the standings with 74 points, followed by Carpe with 65 points, andester in third place with 62 points.

For Veda, who finished seventh, this nine-point addition made the 2023 Asian Talent Cup (ATC) champion with an impressive record move up to ninth with 20 points.

The third series of the Red Bull Rookies Cup will be played by the Mugello Circuit, Italy on June 1-2. The organizing of this series coincides with the seventh series of the 2024 Italian MotoGP which will be held in the same place.
