Jarred Shaw Leads Satria Muda Pertamina Defeat Tangerang Hawks 95-84

JAKARTA - Satria Muda Pertamina Jakarta again dominated after defeating Tangerang Hawks Basketball 95-84 in the IBL match at the Tangerang Arena Banten on Sunday, May 5.

Jarred Shaw finished the match with a double-double of 24 points and 11 rebounds, Mycheal Henry added 14 points, 8 assists, and 7 rebounds. Meanwhile, Abraham Damar Grahita, who scored 12 points for Satria Muda, gave five consecutive defeats to the Hawks.

One of the factors that differentiated in this match was the contribution of the Satria Muda reserve players who collected 39 points.

The naturalized Indonesian Basketball national team player, Dame Diagne, scored 21 points and 9 rebounds from the bench, while Widyanta Putra Teja added 10 points and 5 assists.

"We lost twice in a row, so we tried to be better," said Jarred Shaw. "More importantly is enjoying our game. Trying not to play under pressure."

Two weeks ago, Satria Muda suffered a painful defeat twice in a row in home matches when they hosted Satya Wacana Salatiga and Kesatria Bengawan Solo.

Satria Muda, who wanted to end his bad trend, tried to attack the Hawks quickly from the start. They managed to take the 30-23 lead in the first quarter of the game.

But the Hawks kept SM's game ahead and kept a safe distance with its guests through six tripoin shots in the second quarter.

The hosts made another surprise when the Hawks equalized twice. But their consistency in keeping momentum doesn't always end well so the Hawks remain behind during the third quarter.

At the beginning of the fourth quarter, the Hawks had fought back with Gabriel Risky's tripoin shot which cut the difference in points to only three points at 72-75. But again the Hawks lost momentum and on the other hand, Satria Muda returned to control the match.

The Hawks trailed 12 points (76-88) in the middle of the match. Hawks' efforts followed Satria Muda dashed after Dame Diagne scored a three-point shot in one minute remaining.

Steven Green scored 21 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 assists for the Hawks. Three other Hawks also performed brilliantly with double-digit points, namely Morakinyo Williams 17 points and 12 rebounds, Gabriel Batistuta Risky 15 points, of which were made through 4 tripodins, and Danny Ray 10 points.

Satria Muda won the ninth victory out of a total of 14 matches (9-5). While the Hawks are now ranked 12th with 4 wins and 9 defeats (4-9).
