Fadia/Ribka Pair Donate Two Direct Games In The Second Party Of The 2024 Uber Cup Final

JAKARTA - Indonesian women's doubles pair Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti/Ribka Sugiarto were forced to admit the hosts' advantage in the 2024 Uber Cup peak at the Chengdu Hi Tech Zone Sports Center Gymnasium, Chengdu, China, Sunday, May 5.

Fadia/Ribka lost to Chen Qing Chen/Jia Yi Fan two straight games 11-21, 8-21.

This left Indonesia 2-0 behind China after in the first match of women's singles Gregoria Mariska Tunjung lost to Chen Yu Fei with a score of 7-21, 16-21.

The match has been intense since the first game. Both Fadia/Ribka and Chen/Jia chased each other in numbers. However, the Indonesian doubles missed the moment, far behind the world number one women's doubles at 7-13.

The second game Fadia/Ribka was made helpless when Chen Qing Chen/Jia Yi Fan continued to press and dominate the match, until they were forced to give up on 8-21.

This is the first time the Fadia/Ribka pair have been fielded in the 2024 Uber Cup matches. Meanwhile, in the four Uber Cup matches this edition, Chen/Jia have never lost to various representatives of other worlds.

The next Indonesian single party, Ester Nurumi Tri Wardoyo, will face He Bing Jiao.

Two other Indonesian representatives will still compete in the Uber Cup finals, namely Lanny Tria Mayasari/Rachel Alllessya Rose and Komang Ayu Cahya Dewi.

This is the first final for the Indonesian women's badminton team in the Uber Cup since the 2008 edition, where Maria Kristin, Lilyana Natsir and friends challenged the Chinese team at home, and lost 0-3.
