Al Nassr Asks Indonesia To Help Develop Badminton

The arrival of Menpora Dito Ariotedjo in Al Nassr discussed cooperation in the badminton sector (doc. Kemenpora).

JAKARTA The Al Nassr football club, which is currently reinforced by superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, has asked Indonesia for help to develop badminton in their academy.

The request was conveyed by Al Nassr when receiving a visit from the Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) of the Republic of Indonesia, Dito Ariotedjo, at the Al Nassr Sports Club headquarters, Riyadh, Wednesday, May 1, 2024.

Dito said that during the meeting Al Nassr showed his intention to develop their badminton. Therefore, Indonesia is considered a country that can help their ambitions.

"They asked for help from badminton human resources, both from athletes and coaches, (so that badminton) can be developed at Al Nassr," said Dito at the Kemenpora Office, Thursday, May 2, 2024, afternoon WIB.

Apart from the Al Nassr club, the Saudi Arabian government also requested the desire to develop badminton. Previously, the same request was also conveyed by the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Dito said this golden opportunity is a shame to be missed. He hopes that Indonesian badminton coaches who want to increase their income should accept this offer.

"So, actually the potential for badminton coaches who may not be seniors to hone themselves and have good income potential, we will also support them," he said.

This visit to the Al Nassr Sports Club is a form of follow-up to the cooperation in October 2023, which was carried out in front of President Joko Widodo and the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman al-Saud.

In addition to discussing badminton cooperation, the meeting also discussed football and opened up the possibility of a friendly between Al Nassr and im Indonesia.

This opportunity is wide open because Ronaldo is one of the footballers with a large number of fan bases in Indonesia. However, both parties have not provided certainty regarding the plan.
