Indonesia Vs U-23 Vs Uzbekistan U-23: No Need For Inferior

Indonesia U-23 will face Uzbekistan U-23 in the semifinals of the 2024 U-23 Asian Cup (doc. PSSI).

JAKARTA - Indonesia U-23 will meet Uzbekistan U-23 in the semifinals of the 2024 U-23 Asian Cup at the Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium, Monday, April 29, 2024, WIB night.

White Wolves are indeed favored on paper. They are an experienced team in the U-23 Asian Cup.

East Kapadze's foster children have never been absent since their debut edition in 2013. During their previous five editions, they won in 2018, runner-up (2022), and ranked fourth (2020).

In the 2024 U-23 Asian Cup or sixth edition, they also appeared strong. Throughout the group stage, Uzbekistan U-23 achieved perfect points.

After crushing Saudi Arabia U-23 2-0 in the quarter-finals, White Wolves sweetened their slick record. Uzbekistan U-23 is the most prolific team with 12 goals and has not conceded.

However, this good record cannot be a reference. Uzbekistan U-23 cannot take Indonesia U-23 lightly.

Despite appearing as a debutant, Garuda Muda has been tested to beat the U-23 Asian Cup giants.

Shin Tae-yong's students crushed Australia's U-23 (1-0) and Jordan's U-23 (4-1) in the group stage. Then, they stopped South Korea U-23 in the semifinals on penalties 11-10 after the match ended in a 2-2 draw until the extra round.

Indonesia U-23 is clearly not inferior to the match against Uzbekistan U-23. Especially if you reflect on the meeting record.

The only meeting in the previous official tournament did belong to Uzbekistan U-23. However, in the last 16 match of the 2022 Asian Games, White Wolves needed two additional rounds to overthrow Garuda Muda after the match ended 0-0 in normal time.

In fact, Indonesia U-23 and Uzbekistan U-23 met in 2018. However, the match only had the status of an international friendly match which ended 0-0.

Judging by these various statistics, Indonesia U-23 is not worthy of inferior in front of Uzbekistan U-23.
