Dortmund Only Need Three Minutes To Get Rid Of Atletico Madrid To Meet PSG

JAKARTA - Borussia Dortmund played brilliantly and only needed three minutes to get rid of Atletico Madrid in the Champions League. Dortmund won 4-2 in the second quarter-final match at Signal Iduna Park Stadium, Dortmund, Wednesday, April 17, 2024 in the morning WIB. In the semifinals, they met Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).

Dortmund managed to turn things around. Even though he struggled because he had difficulty adding goals after a 2-2 draw, Dortmund finally scored two important goals.

The goal that was created within three minutes through Niclas Fuellkrug and Marcel Sabitzer made Dortmund a 4-2 lead.

This German Bundesliga club finally won 5-4 on aggregate. The reason is that in the first match, they lost 2-1 to the La Liga team in Spain.

In the semifinals, Dortmund met PSG who eliminated the other La Liga representatives, Barcelona. In the second match, PSG won 4-1 over their rivals.

In that match Dortmund faced stiff resistance from Atletico. The home attack almost paid off in the early minutes of the match through Sabitzer.

However, the midfielder's efforts that Manchester United had borrowed could still be thwarted by defender Cesar Azpilicueta.

After many failures, Dortmund's patience finally paid off. Midfielder Julian Brandt broke the deadlock after receiving a long pass from Matswas to convert into a goal in the 34th minute.

Winning 1-0 made Dortmund more aggressive in suppressing Atletico. Only five minutes later, the hosts also managed to increase their advantage.

This time it was Ian Maatsen who beat goalkeeper Jan Oblak with a hard kick into the corner. The score changed 2-0 for Dortmund and lasted until halftime.

In the second half, Atletico managed to get up. The game has only been running for four minutes, Los Rojiblancos has been able to reduce lag due to an own goal.

The goal increased the adrenaline of Diego Simeone's troops. Evidently, they were able to catch up and equalize through forward Angel Correa who entered to replace Alvaro Morata in the 64th minute.

It started with Atletico's kick which was blocked. But the ball went wild which was then greeted and completed by Correa.

The score changed 2-2. The match was even fiercer. The two teams took steps to put pressure on each other.

Atletico strengthened the defense because the draw was able to pass them to the semifinals.

When Dortmund's forwards had difficulties, Sabitzer appeared as a savior.

He played a big role when Die Borussen took the lead again after Fuellkrug scored in the 71st minute. The goal started with a Sabotzer assist which was converted by Fuellkrug.

This goal restores Dortmund's confidence. The hope of qualifying for the semifinals is back open. Moreover, just three minutes later, Sabitzer also broke into Atletico's goal.

Dortmund finally won 4-2. The score lasted until the end of the match and Dortmund qualified for the semifinals to meet PSG.
