U-23 National Team Match Is Postponed, Police: Permission Should Be Filed 7 Days Earlier

JAKARTA - The trial match between the Indonesian U-23 National Team (Timnas) and Tira Persikabo had to be postponed because the match permit was too close to the match schedule. Referring to the permit application rules should have been a week before the event started.

"In accordance with the regulations that the application for crowd permits must be submitted 7 days before the activity. 7 days or a week before the activity," said Head of Public Relations Division of the National Police, Kombes Ahmad Ramadhan to reporters, Thursday, March 4.

However, in organizing the match, the police request for permission from the committee had only been received by the Police a day before the event. Thus, the match permit cannot be issued.

"It should be noted that the application letter from PSSI to the Police Headquarters was only received by the Police yesterday," he said.

In fact, in issuing permits, the Police must consider several things. Moreover, it is currently the COVID-19 pandemic.

"The incoming letters certainly take time to be processed by the Police. Of course the Police have a mechanism in issuing these permits, one of which is to conduct a deeper study in terms of security and others," he said.

Previously, the Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Yusri Yunus, said that the permit from PSSI had just entered on Wednesday, March 3 morning. Even though in the afternoon the U-23 vs Tira Persikabo national team match will be held.

“The PSSI committee has submitted the permit, but it is very unfortunate that the permit has only arrived in the morning, evening of the match. Meanwhile, the provisions have to look at the limit of the permit because in Jakarta it is still PPKM. The spread of COVID is still very high, which requires 5 billion to be carried out, including the occurrence of crowds that must be avoided so that we postpone the football match yesterday, "said Kombes Yusri to reporters, Thursday, March 4.

Meanwhile, the U-23 Indonesian National Team is planning to hold a trial match against Tira Persikabo at the Madya Stadium, Senayan, Jakarta.

This trial match is preparation for the 2021 Sea Games in Hanoi, Vietnam.
