JAKARTA - Alfreanda Dewangga was forced to postpone joining the U-23 Indonesian national team training camp (TC) in Dubai. He must first undergo surgery.

The PSIS Semarang player is scheduled to undergo surgery at a hospital in Cibubur due to a lump around his arm. Although a colleague in the U-23 Indonesian national team left for Dubai on April 1, 2024, Dewangga joined for longer because he had to undergo surgery on Tuesday, April 2, 2024.

"Alfeandra Dewangga currently has to undergo a small operation because there is a lump near his left armpit," wrote a statement on the official website of PSIS Semarang quoted Thursday, April 4, 2024.

The player who can play the center-back, left-back, and defensive midfielder first experienced a complaint before the PSIS match against Barito Putera in Liga 1 2023/2024.

Even though he was able to appear, in fact his illness was very disturbing and had to continue to take action. Dewangga now has to wait for the green light from the team of doctors regarding when he can immediately join Garuda Muda.

"Yesterday, before against Barito Putera, he was sick, but he was still able to play. After that, I still left for Jakarta."

"The doctor also said that it took five days for recovery to one week," said Dewangga.

The recovery time, which reached one week, actually allowed Dewangga to follow the TC of the U-23 Indonesian National Team which lasted for two weeks in Dubai.

On the TC agenda later, the U-23 Indonesian national team plans to also conduct a trial. The first trial match is scheduled to meet Saudi Arabia on Friday, April 5, 2024. Then, on April 8, 2024, it is the turn to face the United Arab Emirates.

After that, the U-23 Indonesian national team will start the struggle in the 2024 U-23 Asian Cup on April 15, 2024. Garuda Muda will face Qatar directly in the opening match.

Shin Tae-yong's team will then meet Australia on April 18, 2024. Finally, Indonesia U-23 met Jordan on April 21, 2024 in the final match of Group A.
